President Nicos Anastasiades on Sunday will exchange views on the restructuring of the island's army and on other military issues with the Defence Minister, National Guard officials and House Finance Committee members.
Also taking part in the meeting at the presidential retreat in Troodos mountains is the Finance Minister and Central Intelligence Office representatives.
Defence Minister Photis Photiou said that issues of defense and security are high priority for the government.
He also told CNA that the government wishes to secure that decisions are taken collectively and that the political leadership will be briefed in detail on the situation in the National Guard and on plans for the reconstruction of the army forces.
He also added that the Government will brief the participants on the recent developments regarding Cyprus’ cooperation for energy security issues in the region.
