NICOSIA - Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades departs next Tuesday for Kuwait, where he will pay a two-day official visit, on 8-9 October. The President will meet, inter alia, with Emir Sabah Al-Ajmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Parliament of Kuwait.
He will also address a business forum and sign a number of bilateral agreements.
According to an official announcement, President Anastasiades will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides, the Minister of Finance Harris Georgiades and the Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism George Lakkotypis. A large delegation of Cypriot businessmen will also accompany the President to Kuwait.
During the first day of his visit, the President will hold talks with the Emir of the State of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ajmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the delegations of the two countries will sign bilateral agreements.
The President of the Republic will also hold separate meetings with the Prime Minister of Kuwait and with the Speaker of the Parliament. He will also meet with a delegation of the Kuwait Finance House.
On Wednesday, October 9, the President of the Republic will address a business forum organized by Kuwait’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Later on, President Anastasiades will meet with a delegation of the Kuwait Investment Authority and the Kuwait Project Company Holding.
On October 9, at a special ceremony, the President of the Republic will decorate the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus in the State of Kuwait Mr Fahad Al Monjil.
The Ministers of the Republic accompanying the President will also hold meetings with members of the Government of Kuwait.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait. The Minister of Energy will meet with the Minister of Oil and with the Minister of Trade. The Minister of Finance will also meet with the Minister of Trade of Kuwait who is acting Finance Minister of the State.
The President of the Republic and the delegation will depart for Cyprus in the evening of October 9, the announcement concludes. (CNA)
