President Anastasiades said yesterday that he believes the second assessment by the Troika of international lenders will be as positive as the first.
“I am certain that like the first (evaluation) the second will be equally important and favourable, because of the way we are handling the difficulties and our bailout obligations,” said Anastasiades.
Speaking after the parade to celebrate Ochi Day, the anniversary of October 28th, 1940, when Greece turned down an ultimatum by Italian fascists in WWII to surrender.
President Anastasiades and Greek ambassador Vassilis Papaioannou received the salute of parading students who marched past the Greek embassy in Nicosia yesterday.
Commenting on the celebrations, the president said:
“I really feel moved watching the youth marching so orderly to honour this historic anniversary.”
