LIMASSOL: Burglars broke into a jewellery shop on the  Limassol coastal front early on Thursday morning and made off with gems and jewellery worth some 100,000 euros.
A police spokesman said two burglars broke into the shop  using an axe. The burglar alarm went off, but the thieves remained on site, breaking the glass panels and taking gold and other gems. They are believed to have left as soon as police patrol cars arrived in the area. Their burlgar equipment and other evdioence was found on the scene. Closed circuit television camera footage showed two persons wearing hoods covering their faces.
Police investigations continue.
