With 42 MPs in favour of a postponement and three against, the House Plenum decided on Thursday to delay its decision on scale cuts to public and private sector 13th salaries and pensions.
The delay was requested to allow the Plenum to complete discussion on the 2014 Budget and the Solidarity Fund that will be created with money saved from the budget.
Against the postponement were Diko MP Athina Kyriakidou, the Green Party’s George Perdikis and Citizens Alliance MP Nicos Koutsou.
Supporters wanted a small cut on workers’ 13th salaries to raise money for vulnerable members of society over the holidays.
