NICOSIA -- The body of 79-year-old Gregoris Chrysanthou, missing from his Orounda home since December 5, was found in nearby Kato Moni early Wednesday morning, police have confirmed.
His daughter Mary had yesterday made a renewed plea for the public’s help in finding him.
According to the police, Chrysanthou’s body was found in a ditch in the farming community of Kato Moni.
The police rushed to the scene after the find was reported at 7am.
Coroner Nicholas Charalambous examined the site and, the police said, has ruled out foul play.
The exact cause of Chrysanthou’s death is expected to be determined in an autopsy on Thursday.
