The current regime of late shopping hours is being extended for another two months, Labour Minister Zeta Emilianidou said after a cabinet meeting.
She said the extension will apply for two months pending the preparation of a bill so that the issue can henceforth be regulated by law, and not require a ministerial decree.
Emilianidou said that extended shopping hours – including Sunday shopping – had led to the creation of 1800 new jobs, most of them part time.
