A warehouse holding textiles and other goods in Larnaca has been destroyed in fire that broke out in the early hours of Monday.
Four fire trucks battled to put out the blaze at the warehouse on Makarios III Ave. and situated less than 100 metres from Larnaca’s Police Headquarters.
According to initial estimates €20,000 worth of damage has been reported.
Larnaca CID is investigating the cause of the fire.
Separately, two cars were destroyed in separate but almost simultaneous fires.
The first blaze was spotted at 2am in Sotira. Passers-by put out the fire on a car belonging to a 26 year-old and which had been parked outside his house and the fire service was not required. Damaged was caused to the back part of the car.
At around 2.30am, a car in Pernera was completely destroyed in a fire as it was parked outside a pub. The car belongs to a 26 year-old woman and initial investigations indicate the fire was set maliciously.
Famagusta CID is investigating both incidents.
