NICOSIA -- President Anastasiades on Wednesday briefed interested parties on the agreement signed with London on the development of land in the British Bases.
Taking part were political parties, Parliamentarians, local authorities, representatives from the Cyprus Commerce and Industry Chamber, the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation, Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency and others.
The agreement was signed last week and will allow residents increased flexibility to develop private property within the British Sovereign Bases.
Anastasiades dismissed concerns that the deal would turn the SBA into Gibraltar and said there had been no give aways to secure the agreement.
He said there were no winners or losers, but a win win situation for the two sides as it removes a thorn in relations dating back 50 years.
