LARNACA – An investigation has been launched after a young Romanian mother was found dead in her flat Thursday.
The body was discovered by members of the fire services who were alerted by neighbours after they heard the woman’s five-year son calling for help.
Police spokesperson Lefki Solomontos said there were no signs of foul play and death appeared to be due to natural causes.
“We will know more after the autopsy has been completed.” The fire service broke down the door of the flat at 8.15am. The woman and her child had reportedly been living in extremely squalid conditions. The child is currently in the care of the Social Services.
