PAPHOS - Residents are being urged to be sparing with their water consumption as Cyprus is enduringly a particularly dry winter this year.
Speaking to the media, head of the Paphos Waterboard Pitsa Papadopoulou warned that water supplies are limited and asked residents not to be wasteful.
She assured that if the public complies with the warning it is unlikely that water saving measures will need to be implemented by the authorities, even if there is no further rainfall before the end of the winter.
“However, if we want our supplies to last we must be sparing.”
Papadopoulou confirmed that there are also sufficient supplies for the agricultural industry providing the coastal town continues to use water sensibly.
