LARNACA - Two men were found guilty by the Larnaca Assizes on Friday of the execution-style murder of five people in Ayia Napa on June 23, 2012 and each handed five life sentences.
The Larnaca Criminal Court found Greek nationals Demetris Mamalikopoulos, 30, and Anastasios Tsechilides, 42, guilty of all charges in relation to the gangland shooting of three Greek Cypriots and two Romanians as they drove through the coastal resort’s main square.
They were also found guilty of illegal possession of a firearm – a 9mm Glock handgun – and ammunition.
Four of the victims worked for a private security team owned by local businessman Phanos Kalopsidiotis who police believe was the intended target of the hit.
