A 34-year-old Nicosia man is fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit at Nicosia General Hospital after he was seriously injured in a road accident on Friday night.
According to police reports the accident 8.15pm on Friday night on Kallipoleos Avenue in Nicosia, when the car driven by the 34-year old man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, collided with a car driven by a 42-year-old man.
Both drivers suffered injuries and were taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital. However, the 42 year-old was treated and later discharged.
In a seperate incident a 27-year-old Larnaca man has been left in a “serious condition” and is being treated in Larnaca General Hospital for spinal injuries.
According to a police report the accident occurred on Friday evening at around 9.30pm. The 27-year-old was riding a moped on the Arradippou to Larnaca road and failed to notice that the car in front was turning left, as he tried to swerve to avoid a collision he lost control of the moped and fell off the vehicle.
The 27-year-old was taken to Larnaca General Hospital to treated where the doctor described the injuries to his spine as serious.
