Cabinet on Thursday approved the draft bill on privatisations of Cyta, the Electricity Authority and the Port Authority, a condition for Cyprus’ bailout agreement with the Troika.
Diko ministers abstained and it remains unclear how they will vote in the House which will be asked to approve the bill.
Employees from semi-government organisations have objected strongly to the government’s policy.
Cyta employees protested outside the Presidential Palace on Thursday and unions have warned of a 24-hour strike on Friday in case the bill was approved.
