NICOSIA – The Health Ministry said on Thursday that it was taking legal measures against a local distribution company that had failed to comply with instructions to recall sweets ‘Mikra Koufetakia’ from the market.
It said that the sweets left a bitter aftertaste, adding that there was no expiry date.
The warning concerns multi-coloured sweets with chocolate filling sold in a plastic tube, imported from Malaysia and produced by SEDAP FOOD INDUSTRIES SDN,BHD.
Although the distributor had been asked to withdraw the product, these remain on the market.
Consumers are being urged not to consume the sweets, while the company faces legal action for non-compliance with its instructions.
