Traffic police in Paphos were left stunned on Sunday night after stopping a vehicle for a random check only to discover a girl of eight behind the wheel and her father in the passenger-seat.
The incident occurred at around 4.30pm on the Skouli-Peristerona road when Polis-Chrysochous traffic police noticed the petite build of the driver behind the wheel. Officers could scarcely believe their eyes when they saw the young girl behind the wheel and her father next to her. The man, said to be 33-year-old Greek national living in Skouli village, was immediately placed under arrest and is set to appear before a magistrate at a later date where is set to be charged with allowing a minor to take the control of a vehicle.
