The Finance Ministry announced On Tuesday that one-parent families and those with three or more children would be receiving their child allowance for February and March earlier than usual.
They also called on beneficiaries in these categories to re-apply for their child allowance as soon as possible in order to continue receiving the amounts beyond April.
The Ministry said the payments for February and March this year would be given out on a monthly basis instead of being included in a lump sum for the four months after the end of April.
Beneficiaries in the categories must have had a household income of no more than €39,000 in accordance to the application they submitted last year.
The Finance Ministry also noted that, from April onwards, the child allowance would be paid on a monthly basis only to families that had submitted a new application and called on single parent families and those with three or more children to submit their applications as soon as possible to avoid any delays in receiving their money.
Applications are available from the Finance Ministry’s website www.mof.gov.cy as well as Grants and Benefits Service offices, the Finance Ministry’s service bureau and Citizen Service Centres.
