Police and Fire Services officers were called into action in the early hours of Tuesday morning after Paphos was lashed by heavy rainstorms.
According to a police spokesperson, roads were flooded by the freak storm while the fire services in the town were also called to several buildings that were also flooded by gushing water. The storm began at around 3.30am while the area of Paphos was also hit by hail.
Police received a total of 12 calls while an emergency call also came in from a driver whose car broke down in flooded water at the roundabout just shy of the Pafiakos stadium.
Traffic police were on Tuesday morning shepherding traffic around the town as municipality workers attempted to unclog drains and roads that were overwhelmed by mud and stones.
