LIMASSOL- Limassol bus drivers have suspended their open-ended strike action, planned for Wednesday, until Friday, pending an interim solution to their salary grievance.
According to an announcement from two unions representing the drivers, on Tuesday they decided to give the Communications Ministry an extra 48 hours to release emergency funds to the Limassol Passenger Transport Company (EMEL) so February salaries can be paid in full.
The unions’ decision came after a Tuesday House Labour Committee meeting which saw the issue discussed and MPs requesting the extra time for the Communications Ministry, the unions said.
