LARNACA – Police are probing a case of sudden death of a woman in Larnaca, amid reports she may have been murdered.
Police received a call at 8.00 pm on Saturday that a woman had been found unconscious in a flat in the Kokkines area of Larnaca. Arriving on the scene they found a 36 year old political refugee of Iraqi descent who said that he had found his wife unconscious on returning to the flat with their three year old child.
Police established that the 26 Romanian woman was dead and had marks of having been strangled on her throat. The husband said that at 7.200 pm he had been at a shop with the child and presented a receipt of purchase to show that he had been away from the house.
A police investigation is underway.
