NICOSIA -- Larnaca and Basel have since the start of the month been linked with two, direct, easyJet flights per week.
According to an announcement from the airline, the new flights are every Tuesday and Saturday. Passengers travel with an A319 with one-way tickets starting at €69.99.
EasyJet says the route has been created in response to passenger needs and expectations. Regional Ground Operations Manager Stephanos Vakirtzis addes: “Since easyJet began its first flight to Paphos in 2008 it has continuously been developing its network while steadily supporting Cyprus tourism. The new Larnaca-Basel route comes in addition to the existing nine routes, carrying a number of passengers expected to surpass 670,000 in 2014.”
This, Vakirtizis noted, would be a 14% increase on the same period last year. He added easyJet would continue its stable development in Cyprus “connecting it with the most important European centres of tourism, always with safety, comfort and competitive prices.”
