LIMASSOL – First Lady Andri Anastasiades bought a prime piece of property in one of Limassol’s most affluent residential areas for €500,000, payable in monthly installments, from the Archbishopric, Phileleftheros newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The newspaper said the deal was made at a much lower price than that estimated by property surveyors.
The 1,739 square metres land at Mesovounia area in Yermasoyia – adjacent to the private presidential residence was bought on February 3, 2014, at the price of €500,000. The newspaper said the estimated price by property evaluators is €870,000.
The agreement signed by Archbishop Chrysostomos as the seller and Andri Anastasiades as the buyer provides for 75 monthly interest-free payments.
There was a down payment of €40,000 with an additional €160,000 to be paid by the end of April. The monthly payments are €4,000 each.
In a reply, the Archbishop told Stockwatch.com that there was no preferential treatment and that the residential plot was on the market.
He also said that the price sold was representative of today’s value-market.
