Parents are reminded to confirm their children's registration at state kindergartens and primary school later this month.
According to an Education Ministry announcement, confirmation must be made on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 29 and 30.
Parents who in January were unable to provide documentation their child had attended an accredited pre-primary class must be able to do so for first class primary school registration to be finalised.
They must also provide proof their child's vaccinations are up to date by either presenting a photocopy of the relevant page in their Health Book or a certificate from their doctor.
The parents of children attending pre-primary kindergarten for the first time must take along the registration confirmation slip they were given in January.
Parents confirming their children will continue to attend the primary school or kindergarten they are currently at will not need to provide any documentation but must confirm their registration for the new school year through forms circulated by the school.
Parents registering their children at different schools because the family has moved since January or for other reasons can do so on April 29 and 30, after filling in the relevant form from www.moec.gov.cy
and their district education offices.
Children will only be accepted at the new school if there are available places, the Education Ministry notes.
The new school year begins on Monday, September 8 with some kindergarten children introduced in stages until and including Friday, September 12.
