LIMASSOL- The Criminal Court sitting in Limassol on Thursday sentenced a French national to eight years in prison from importing and supplying 3.5kg of cocaine.
The 63-year-old was arrested in the Linopetra area of Limassol on February 2 following a tip-off and admitted to being paid to bring the drugs to Cyprus. They were concealed in the lining of his suitcase.
In its judgement, the Criminal Court noted the spread of drug-related offences and their painful consequences. The court also said it had taken into account the man’s confession, his cooperation with the police, his health problems and personal circumstances.
