An evacuation of Larnaca Airport, following a security alert, ended at 10.30am on Tuesday morning following a bomb scare at 9am
Passengers and staff were allowed to re-enter the terminal after a thorough search by bomb disposal experts, police and sniffer dogs.
Quoting police sources, Phileleftheros’ website Philenews had reported the airport has been completely evacuated while the airport was being searched.
Informed sources has also told The Cyprus Daily that the call had been made by a male speaking English with an Arabic accent.
USA Vice President Joe Biden is due in Cyprus on Wednesday.
Paphos Police Chief Nicos Sophocleous also confirmed that checks had been carried out at Paphos Airport as a precaution.
