NICOSIA - The Cyprus Tennis Federation has opened a bank account and is accepting contributions for teenage amateur tennis players Yiannis Neofytou and Andreas Aravis who were recently seriously injured in an auto accident.
According to an announcement, the funds are to be used to ensure the athletes receive the best possible medical treatment and soon return to good health.
Neofytou, 17, and Aravis, 16, were travelling with friends to an APOEL football match on May 3 when the driver lost control of the car which overturned on a Nicosia main road, near Tymvos Makedonitissas. Their friend – rising tennis star - George Gougouris, 16 who was sat in the back seat died at the scene.
