NICOSIA - Presidential front-runner Nicos Anatasiades’ law firm has been cleared of money laundering following an investigation, the Attorney General announced Wednesday.
The probe was launched at Anastasiades own request following allegations on a website.
A statement from the AG said that the investigation had found that the incidents on which the allegations were based fell under the normal provision of professional services.
The investigation was carried to be completed before the presidential election on Sunday.
Anastasiades had said that he would withdraw from the presidential race if the allegations were found to be true.
