Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were married at the weekend in Correns, France, according to a spokesman for the couple.
The Hollywood stars wed on Saturday in a small chapel in a private ceremony attended by family and friends at Chateau Miraval.
In advance of the nondenominational civil ceremony, Brad and Angelina obtained a marriage licence from a local California judge, who also conducted the ceremony in France.
The couple's children took part in the wedding. The actress walked down the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox and Pax, while daughters Zahara and Vivienne threw petals. Their remaining offspring, Shiloh and Knox, served as ring bearers, the spokesman said.
The A-listers finally tied the knot after months of rumours about their nuptials.
Brad said previously of getting hitched: "I am getting more pressure from my kids, and it is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come."
This is the second marriage for Brad, who wed Jennifer Aniston in 2000. They divorced in 2005.
Angelina was previously married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller for three years in the late '90s and to Billy Bob Thornton for three years before divorcing in 2003.
They are due to start filming together on the movie By The Sea in Malta next month, their first film together since Mr And Mrs Smith in 2005.
