NICOSIA - Cyprus revenue from tourism in the first ten months of 2012 reached €1.823,2 m, recording an increase of 11%, in comparison to the corresponding period in 2011.
According to data issued by the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, for the period January – October 2012 revenue from tourism is estimated to €1.823,2 m compared to €1.642,9 mn in the corresponding period of 2011, recording an increase of 11.0%.
As regards recent monthly data, on the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached €211,5m in October 2012.
In October 2011 revenue from tourism was at €188,8 m, thus 2012 data showed an increase of 12.1% compared to the corresponding month last year.
Total tourist arrivals in 2012, recorded an increase of 3% reaching 2.464.908 compared to 2.392.228 in 2011.
Meanwhile, compared to 2010, tourist arrivals in 2012 rose by 13.4%, while compared to 2009, they recorded an increase of 15.1%.
