Nicosia –President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades flies on Sunday to Athens, where he will pay his first visit abroad after his election as President of the Republic.
According to an official press release, during his visit President Anastasiades will hold separate meetings with Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias and Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Evangelos Meimarakis.
He will also have meetings with the leaders of SYRIZA, PASOK, the Democratic Left and the Communist Party (KKE), and will also have a meeting with representatives of the Federation of Cypriot Organisations in Greece (OKOE).
According to the press release, President Anastasiades, who will be accompanied by his spouse, Andri, will be welcomed at Athens airport by Prime Minister Samaras and Foreign Minister Demetris Avramopoulos.
On Monday morning, President Anastasiades will have a meeting with OKOE representatives. Later on he will meet with Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Evangelos Meimarakis.
Following that he will have a private meeting with President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias.
At 1230 local time (1030 GMT) he will meet with Prime Minister Samaras, with whom he will afterwards hold a joint press conference.
In the afternoon, he will hold separate meetings with SYRIZA President Alexis Tsipras,
PASOK President Evangelos Venizelos, President of the Democratic Left Photi Kouveli, and General Secretary of KKE Aleka Papariga.
During his visit, President Anastasiades will be escorted by Government Spokesman Christos Stylianides, Under Secretary to the President Constantinos Petrides, Cyprus' Ambassador in Athens Iosif Iosif and other officials.
President Anastasiades and his entourage will return home on Monday evening.
