NICOSIA - All four defendants in the Antis Hadjicostis trial were found guilty of his murder Thursday and jailed for life at Nicosia assizes.
The media mogul was gunned down in front of his Engomi home in January 2010 in a killing that shocked Cyprus.
Former TV presenter Elena Skordelli and her brother Tassos Krassopoulos paid to have Hadjicostis murdered. The other two accused were the gunman, Gregoris Xenofontos and meat supplier Andreas Gregoriou, who organised the hit.
Skordelli’s mother fainted when the verdicts were announced and her daughter was led away muttering “my children, my children.”
There were scuffles between members of the defendants’ families and police.
