Revenue from tourism drops by 3.7% in April 2013
Nicosia,-- Revenue from tourism reached €110,4 million in April 2013 compared to €114,6 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a decrease of 3.7%, on the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, announced on Friday by the Statistical Service.
With the exception of January 2013, for which no data have been released, the total revenue for February, March and April has been €209.1 million compared to €209.4 million during the responding period of 2012.
As it has already been announced, tourist arrivals in April 2013 decreased by 14.3% as they dropped to 162,439 compared to 189,648 in April of 2012.
Tourists from Norway were recorded as the tourists the highest per person expenditure in April 2013 with€ 1,251.0 followed by tourists from the US with €868.7and tourists from Russia with €763.8.
Tourists from Greece were recorded as the tourists with the lowest per person expenditure with €359, followed by tourists from Denmark with €383.6 and tourists from Finland with €450.2.
